I went to Seoul Good in Ratina on 29 October with my Finnish friend Miro and my Korean friend Seoyeon. Seoul Good is a Korean-stlye chicken shop, and they offer many different types of chicken along with some Korean side dishes. At the entrance of the kitchen, there was a fabric poster with the Korean sentence “이 집 음식 잘하네,” which means “the food in this restaurant is really good.” It felt funny and comforting to see Korean expressions in Finland.
They had more than eight types of chicken, so it was fun to choose and compare them. We also tasted some Korean dishehs like Kimchi, Japchae, and Gal-bi. Sharing these foods with Miro felt special because it was the first time he tried some of them.
During the meal, I taught him useful Korean expressions that people normally use in restaurants.

He also asked me about some grammar and how to use certain expressions naturally, so I explained those to him as well. It was interesting to see how curious he was, and it made me realize how much I enjoy teaching Korean through real situations like eating together.
