3.12 Study at the library

For this Each One Teach One activity, I met Miro at Metso Library. I was working on my course assignments, while Miro was preparing for a Korean Language Institute Korean proficiency exam. We spent about five hours studying together in the library, focusing on our own tasks while also supporting each other.

Miro’s exam included speaking, listening, grammar, and reading, and he mentioned that speaking was the most challenging part for him. I helped him practice natural Korean speaking and explained key grammar points, especially honorific expressions and tense usage. For example, I explained the difference between casual and polite forms such as “먹어” (eat) and “먹어요” (polite), and basic tense changes like “가요” (go, present) and “갔어요” (went, past). These examples helped him better understand how grammar is used in real conversations.

After studying, we went together to Posti, as I needed to send a package to Korea. I helped Miro with buying a shipping box and understanding the basic process at the post office.

Overall, this experience combined academic support, practical language teaching, and everyday assistance, showing how language exchange can naturally happen through daily activities.
