8th meeting: Movie-weekend part 2

It was raining or snowing or maybe both ( There is a word in Finnish for that kind of wet snow actually, its “räntä” – “sataa räntää”) when I was cycling to Joannas and Adams at sunday evening. I get to see their home in Lapinkaari student dormitory, where they have a own flat, and get to watch a Polish movie after we saw one in Finnish before.

All the setting was really nice, a table with snacks and lovely apple pie, that Joanna had made by her self tasted really good! Adam had choose a movie called “Bogowie” or in english “Gods” directed by Łukasz Palkowski year 2014. Its based on true storie about the first successfully done heart transplant in Poland which was operated by surgeon Zbigniew Religa and his team.

Trough the movie I could also get a touch of an old Polish culture generally and it was interesting film all in all. It was hard to pick out Polish words from the text but some greetings I could recognize at least. And actually also one Polish swear word too, but I´m not sure yet how bad it is to use, so Im not going to put it in here. There was a english subtitles I could follow although some medical words that there naturally were when dealing that kind of subject.

After movie I get also see very beutifull pictures of Poland and city Poznań, where Joanna and Adam is coming from. With river, lake, mountain and colourful, old buildings it seemed there could be lot to see and discover. Polish language could be just little bit more easy for foreign thou!

It was a nice evening with everything. We still have two times left for our meetings, hope that the sprig is coming with more warm and sunny days!
