Today’s online learning session with Zichen was incredibly productive and enjoyable. We focused on the basics of the Chinese language, starting with greetings and polite phrases. Zichen patiently guided me through the pronunciation and helped me practice. I found it to be quite straightforward, since she also recorded more audios with pronunciation for me.
One aspect of the language that I’m currently working on is learning numbers. While I find the pronunciation to be relatively easier, strokes writing poses a bit of a challenge for me. However, Zichen has been supportive and constantly provides me with new learning materials to practice and improve.
In return, I prepared a presentation for Zichen about traditional Russian holidays, including information about celebration food and popular tourist destinations in Russia. I thought it would be a great way for her to learn more about Russian culture. She seemed genuinely interested and appreciative of the presentation, which made me feel happy and encouraged to continue sharing more aspects of my culture with her.
Overall, I believe our language learning journey is progressing well. I can feel myself making progress in Chinese, and Zichen is also expanding her knowledge of Russian culture. It would be wonderful to plan some informal activities such as cooking or engaging in sports, but our busy schedules make it challenging to find time. However, we are both committed to diversifying our learning experiences and will hopefully be able to organize something in the near future.
In conclusion, I am grateful for Zichen’s patience and dedication as my language partner. I look forward to continuing this journey of mutual learning and cultural exchange.
