Second meeting (Spanish/German)

For our second meeting, we decided to explore the Finnish culture together. Going ice skating was our plan! We met at the ice rink close to the city center and it was even snowing. After a couple of rounds skating, we all began to feel safer on the ice. During our break, Paula taught us some Spanish words that are associated with ice skating. I learned the following words:

el patín – der Schlittschuh
patinaje sobre hielo el patinaje – das Schlittschuhlaufen
el hielo – das Eis
quedar con amigos – Freunde treffen

This typical Finnish experience helped us to get to know each other better and we also talked about if ice skating is a thing in Spain, Switzerland, and Germany. We concluded that we all went ice skating in our home countries before but most of the time it was in some kind of arena where you had to pay an entrance fee and not in a park like here in Finland. Ice skating is definitely one of my favorite things to do in the winter here in Finland.
Thanks for this great day Paula and Juri!
