Dai is a Family Court Program Associate for the New York State Office of Indigent Legal Services. The Office seeks to divert money from CPS, police, prisons, etc, and to invest public money in people.
Dai’s activities include: collecting, analyzing, and reporting data in collaboration with the Family Court Research Associate; maintaining an accurate contact list for all providers of family defense and family court mandated representation; compiling and maintaining a list of expert witness and non-attorney professional contact information; initiating and maintaining relationships with academic institutions and working with other members of the unit to develop programs to promote internships, family defense social work expertise/specialization, and public defense career paths for students and graduates; and providing administrative and organizational support to the Family Court/Parent Representation unit, including developing record-keeping protocols for particular sets of documents and projects in conjunction with other ILS staff and the Director of Quality Enhancement.
