Initiating cooperation with Ghanaian universities

A delegation led by H.E. Mrs Amerley Ollennu Awua-Asamoa, Ambassador of Ghana and two academics from a Ghanaian partner university visited Tampere University in December.

Dr. Abigail Opoku Mensah and Prof. Daniel Agyapong from the University of Cape Coast (UCC) visited Tampere University on 9 – 12 December 2019. UCC is one of the two Ghanaian partner universities of Tampere University. The visit of the Ghanaian Minister of Education in Helsinki on 12 – 13 December brought also the Ambassador of Ghana from Copenhagen to Finland, and, on Monday 9 December, the Ambassador with her delegation and the academics from UCC discovered the city centre campus and Hervanta campus together. Between the campus tours, they met with Provost Jarmo Takala and academics in the fields of Education and Theatre Work as well as Peace and Conflict Research. During the following three days, the guests from UCC discussed about collaboration opportunities with academics in the Faculty of Education and in the Higher Education Research Group of the Faculty of Management and Business.
