Community Engagement for Urban Resilience through AI and Other Emerging Technologies

What kind of resilience issues are cities facing today? Who are the actors involved, and how can new technologies, including AI, be used to improve resilience in cities? These topics were discussed at the Urban Resilience Symposium at Tampere University in August 2025. The focus of discussions was especially on multispecies resilience, community engagement, and sustainable built environment. The long-term aim is to develop understanding on what kind of future strategies, policy implications, and technological solutions should be developed to make cities more sustainable living environments for all inhabitants, both humans and non-humans alike.
