The second Each One Teach One meeting took place at McDonald’s, which provided a warm and informal indoor environment for our language exchange. Choosing a familiar public place made the meeting relaxed and practical, allowing us to focus on learning while surrounded by everyday objects and situations.
The main focus of this meeting was learning the names of fruits and the days of the week. I practiced Spanish vocabulary related to common fruits and weekdays, while the Spanish participants practiced the same topics in Persian. Using visual references, such as menu items and examples from daily life, made the learning process easier and more engaging.
This meeting helped me realize how effective contextual learning can be. Talking about fruits while seeing food around us and discussing weekdays in relation to daily routines made the vocabulary more memorable. Repetition and pronunciation practice played an important role, especially when learning Spanish words that were new or difficult for me.
There were moments when remembering all the words at once felt challenging, and switching between languages required concentration. English once again served as a helpful support language when clarification was needed. Despite these challenges, the relaxed atmosphere encouraged us to ask questions and correct mistakes without hesitation.
In reflection, this meeting showed me how everyday places can become effective learning environments. Learning languages in real-life settings made the experience feel natural and practical. This session strengthened my vocabulary, improved my pronunciation, and increased my confidence in both teaching and learning through mutual exchange.
