Fourth Meeting at the Gym (27th of October)

The fourth Each One Teach One meeting took place on the 27th of October at the gym. This setting was especially suitable for learning, as it allowed us to connect language directly with physical movement and real-life actions. The dynamic environment made the session interactive and engaging.

The main focus of this meeting was vocabulary related to the human body and gym exercises. We learned and practiced the names of different body parts as well as common gym exercises and movements. I practiced these terms in Spanish, while the Spanish participants learned the corresponding vocabulary in Persian. Being able to see and perform the exercises while naming them helped reinforce the learning process.

This meeting highlighted the importance of learning through action. Associating words with physical movement made it easier to remember vocabulary and improved pronunciation. It also made the session more enjoyable and less mentally demanding, as learning happened naturally during activity.

There were some challenges, particularly with longer or unfamiliar exercise names. Switching between languages while exercising required concentration, and English was occasionally used to clarify meanings. However, the supportive atmosphere helped everyone stay motivated and comfortable making mistakes.

In reflection, this meeting showed how physical activity can enhance language learning. Using the gym as a learning space demonstrated that language acquisition does not need to be limited to traditional environments. This session helped expand my vocabulary and strengthened my confidence in learning languages through practical, everyday experiences.
