Today we had our third Each one – Teach one meeting, again at TAMK, since I just came from one lesson and Luis was about to leave for his next one. So we had one hour in-between and used this time to learn some more Spanish.
Lucky us they were giving away free “donuts”, what we would rather call “Berliner” (by the way: Luis too, since it is something typical German) and some coffee in the entrance hall, what was a great motivation – and a cute idea. When asking why they are doing this, the simple answer was: “It’s Valentine’s Day on Saturday and we wanted to make you smile.” A very much appreciate surprise – thanks again! 🙂
Then our complete table was full with staff in different colors, that we wanted Luis to teach us colors, “colors” in Spanish.
red = rojo
white = blanco
black = negro
green = verde
blue = azul
yellow = amarillo
grey = gris
pink = rosa
orange = naranja
brown = marrón
purple = morado
After pronouncing them quite often, we wanted to learn some basic sentences, such as “How are you? “Where are you from?” and “Who are you?”
Como te llamas? = What is your name? / Me llama Theresa. = My name is Theresa
Cuanto anos tienes? = How old are you? / Tengo 23 anos. = I am 23 years old.
De donde eres? = Where are you from? / Soy de alemania. = I am from Germany / Soy aleman a. = I am German
Podría tener…? = Could you please give me …?
At the end we learned, what it means to be an international business student in Finland.
Soy un estudiante en Finlandia. = I am a student in Finland.
Estudio negocios internacionales. = I study International Business.
I was as always much fun and I look forward to the next meeting.
