For our first meeting, on the 10th of September, we went to an ice hockey game with the four of us and a friend. This was an ice hockey game of Tappara against TPS. TPS is from Turku. I visited Turku two weeks ago so it was nice to see a game of them against Tampere. We thought it would be nice to do something typical Finnish.
We watched the game together. Anna went to a few ice hockey games before in Germany, it’s a quiet popular sport in Germany, so she could learn me some rules. She also told us some differences with German ice hockey. One example is that the crowd is cheering much more in Germany. They clap and cheer, and also stand up the last few minutes. I have never been to an ice hockey game in the Netherlands so I can’t compare this with the Netherlands.
During the breaks we talked about other typical sports in Germany. Soccer is the biggest sport in Germany. But also basketball and tennis are quiet big.
