Today we discussed daily greeting and apologies. This was quite interesting as I myself did not know any Chinese. Some of the words we got taught were Nǐ hǎo / Hello and zǎo shang hǎo / goodmorning. Other words included goodafternoon, goodevening, goodnight, sorry and excuse me.
We also got shown how to write these words and in what order you should write the characters, which was interesting as this is uncommen when using the Latin alphabet. The characters you use to write words are to be written in a specific order, at least that is how Chinese is thaught in China. It was also interesting to see that the different parts of a certain character has a completely different meaning when written seperatly. This can be seen in the picture below as some of the different words that were explained are also shown.
A fun thing I also heard when writing Chinese was that I was actually writing pretty good Chinese according to the others. They were impressed about my writing skills in that regard and I was too.
After learning a few basic words of Chinese we in return thaught them the same words, but then in Dutch. But I think more information on that can be found in the blogs of Jiaqi, Huaicheng and Changling.
