Meeting #4 of EOTO

Group members: Changhyun Kwak, Elisa Pekkola, Fabian Binkert
Meeting date:  11th of November
Place: Meeting at Elisa’s apartment

Subject: Finnish food

Elisa presented us a bunch of delicious Finnish specialities. I guess that the most common one is the karjalanpiirakka (rise cake). It is usually offered to guests at home parties. On top of it you can put jam or egg butter. The second thing Elisa showed us was the rusinappi (biscuit) that you eat with kylmäsavulohi (cold-smoked salmon). That taste was awesome! Furthermore we ate a good cheese and for desert we had berliininmunkki (sugar-glazed jelly doughnut, lit. “Berlin doughnut”). The berliininmunkki tastes totally different to the classical “Berliner” from Berlin, Germany. It reminds me of a special tea flavour. I love it!

During the evening we were talking general about some Finnish greeting forms, travels that we did and other stuff.
