Second session of each one teach one 15.9.2025

We met at the Proakatemia premises and dedicated our session mainly to pronunciation. I worked with Maria on French nasal sounds such as bon, pain, and vin. She picked them up surprisingly quickly, and it was encouraging to see how confidently she repeated each sound. Her motivation was really visible, and it made the practice feel productive and enjoyable for both of us.

On my side, I focused on mastering Finnish double letters and trying to understand how vowel length changes the meaning of words. It’s still quite tricky, but also genuinely interesting. While practicing, I realized how differently Finnish and French use the mouth and airflow. Finnish feels very “forward” in the mouth, with clear and sharp sounds, whereas French tends to be rounder, softer, and more nasal. This contrast helped me understand why some Finnish sounds feel unfamiliar.

The Finnish letters y and ä continue to challenge me, especially when speaking more naturally. I still mix them up from time to time. But despite these difficulties, we followed our plan well, stayed focused, and both left the session feeling that we had made real progress. Overall, it was a very successful and motivating exchange session.
