Because me and Melissa love food, like all italian people, we asked to Anna to teach us some german words about it. In Italy, unlike here, on Sunday supermarket are always opened and many families do their grocery shopping. I don’t like it so much because there are always so many people there and the shopping takes like two hours, so I prefer going out with friends, travelling, or visiting my relatives. But sometimes I do grocery shopping and I like it only because it makes the family together!
We talked about fruits, vegetables, meat, fish, cheese and of course PASTA! Anna was really interested into all different types of pasta that we have in Italy, and told us that everybody talks about Spaghetti but nobody knows that there are so many other kinds of it. And the funniest thing is that every shape of pasta is used to make a specific dish and accompanied with specific sauces.
This meeting was really usefull for me because in the high school I studied german literature and I didn’t know most of german food vocabulary. Then, I think this is a good way to teach and learn: firstly because is interactive, secondly because you can see wich products Anna takes for her lunch and dinner and in this way, understanding german food culture.
I t was a good way to spend Sunday, even because we did our grocery shopping, foundamental to survive but really hard to do during the week since we are everytime full of commitments!
Enjoy Finland! Keep in touch! Meine Lieblingsfrucht ist die Erdbeere. Tschüss!
