In November we walked to the Christmas market in surprisingly warm sunshine. On the way, we talked a lot about the past week and our winter hobbies. There is hardly any snow in the Netherlands, so many typical winter activities are not possible. Etty still really wants to try snowboarding, so maybe we’ll plan a little trip for that sometime.
I told her about my trip to Lapland last week: lots of snow, beautiful scenery and a real winter atmosphere. No wonder Etty wanted to experience snow even more after hearing about it.
When we finally arrived at the Christmas market, however, we had to laugh because hardly anything was open. Only a few stalls were there, many were closed, and the atmosphere was more subdued than Christmassy. The opening is next Saturday. So, after a quick look, we went home again.
Nevertheless, it was a nice walk and a good opportunity to just have a chat.
