Blog 10 - Visit to the Christmas market

Our tenth and final Each One Teach One meeting took place on December 10th at the Christmas Market. It was a beautiful way to end our project, surrounded by lights, music, and festive decorations.

We walked among the stalls while talking about how each of us celebrates Christmas with our families. We shared typical traditions, foods, and customs from Spain, and Alijon told us about how this season is celebrated in Tajikistan. It was very interesting to see how the same time of year can have such different meanings across cultures.

We also discussed our New Year’s resolutions and our plans once we return to our home countries. Talking about the future made us reflect on how much we have learned, not only linguistically but also on a personal level.

This final meeting was emotional and full of gratitude. I realized how far we had come since our first meeting by the lake, from learning simple greetings to confidently sharing cultural reflections with joy. This experience taught me that language learning is also about friendship, empathy, and human connection.

A part of the christmas market!
