Our eight Each One Teach One meeting took place on December 4th at TOAS, where we shared lunch together. The environment was very pleasant and comfortable, which helped the conversation flow spontaneously. We decided to talk about our favorite snacks and foods, a topic that always generates a lot of participation and enthusiasm.

Each of us explained what the typical cuisine of our country is and which foods we enjoy the most. Alijon showed  us some traditional Tajik snacks, and we, in turn, showed him some Spanish classics such as tortilla de patatas, croquetas, and churros. We also compared flavors and culinary customs, which helped us understand how food reflects both the personality and habits of each culture.

In addition, we learned new vocabulary related to food and meals, such as lunch, snack, dessert, and drink. The session was very fun and full of personal anecdotes and jokes, which made it much easier to remember the new words.

This meeting also made me reflect on how language learning can happen naturally when we talk about topics that genuinely interest us. Discussing food created a feeling of home and showed how a shared meal can bring people together, regardless of the language they speak.
