Café The Hidden

On November 13th, I went to Café The Hidden with Etty after coming back from university. I had heard that it was a very good café, so I was excited to try it.

I ordered a hazelnut coffee, which was really delicious. Etty had a regular coffee. While enjoying our drinks, we talked a lot and exchanged thoughts about Christmas traditions in different places, especially in the Netherlands, Curaçao, and Germany. In the Netherlands, traditions like Sinterklaas play a big role in early December, and families often celebrate with small gifts and poems. In Curaçao, Christmas is influenced by the warm climate and Caribbean culture, with festive music, colorful decorations, and big family gatherings. In Germany, traditional Christmas markets, Advent wreaths, and baking cookies are an important part of the season. It was very interesting to see how traditions can be so different but also quite similar.

At the end, we both went shopping together, which was a nice way to finish the afternoon.

Overall, it was a relaxed and pleasant visit, with good coffee and great conversations.
