Cooking Session

In this cooking evening we met up for a cooking session, preparing a meal that turned out to be both delicious and memorable. We decided to make chicken with spinach and cream cheese as the filling, along with crispy potato wedges served with ketchup and mayo. We worked as a team, each of us taking on different tasks in the kitchen-one person preparing the filling with cream cheese and spinach, another slicing the chicken, and the rest of us washing the potatoes and making them ready to bake. It was a nice way to bond over cooking and share a bit of our home cooking traditions.

As we worked, we laughed and chatted, trying to remember the right words in each other’s languages for the ingredients and steps. It was a laid-back atmosphere, with everyone taking part in preparing the meal. After a while in the oven, the chicken was cooked through, and the potato wedges were nice and crispy. When we finally sat down to eat, we all agreed it turned out really well and tasted great.

The meal was not only delicious but also a great reminder of the joy of cooking together and learning from one another. We also picked up a few useful words in each other’s languages along the way. From Czech, we learned kuře (chicken), sýr (cheese), and příloha (side dish). In German, we learned Hähnchen (chicken), Kräuter (herbs), and Beilage (side dish).
