In this session we did on November 4th 2025 we decided to go to the gym and learnt in a less traditional way, which made this session really fun and interactive.
We started by going over the vocabulary that we had been working on during previous meetings and after that we went on to learn about new words related with the different parts of the body in persian and spanish. Daira, Andrea and I practiced these words in Persian, while Alijon focused on Spanish.
While we did our different exercises, we talked about how we say different sports in our languages and shared information about the most popular sports activities in our countries, furthermore we talked about what we used to do when we were younger. We ended the session playing hula-hoop and jumping rope, what gave the session a very happy and dynamic ending. Laughing and moving around amid laughter created a very pleasant and inspiring learning environment.
When reflecting on the meeting, I feel like both my vocabulary in Persian and my knowledge on their traditions and customs improved. Combining movement with learning helped me a lot to remember words, and the process turned out to be very interesting. I also realized that the interactive activities are very useful to keep the attention and make the practical part of the language be more memorable.
Moreover, this session provided me with cultural information about sports practices that I did not expect to discuss. Knowing more about the popularity of certain sports in Tajikistan and comparing them with Spain allowed me to understand better how the cultural context influences everyday life. Remembering all the new words during the exercises was a challenge, but the fun and interactive environment helped me get through it.
In short, it was a personal, productive and very entertaining experience, that not only strengthened my linguistic abilities, but also widened my cultural knowledge.
