Tenth Meeting at the Christmas Market (10th December)

--

Our tenth and final Each One Teach One meeting took place on the 10th of December at the Christmas Market. It was a beautiful way to end our project, surrounded by lights, music, and festive decorations.

We walked through the stalls while talking about how each of us celebrates Christmas in our families. We shared typical traditions, foods, and customs from Spain, and Alijon told us about how the season is celebrated in Tajikistan. It was interesting to see how the same time of year can have such different meanings across cultures.

We also discussed our New Year’s resolutions and our plans once we return to our home countries. Talking about the future made us reflect on how much we have learned, not only in language but also personally.

This meeting was emotional and full of gratitude. I realized how far we have come since our first meeting by the lake, from learning simple greetings to sharing cultural reflections with confidence and joy. The experience taught me that language learning is also about friendship, empathy, and connection.
