Week 2: Breakfasts - ⁠Coffee time essentials

This week’s topic was breakfast! We went to this wonderful coffee place near the city centre called Vohvelikahvila. Next to the adorable interior they served very taste waffels in with all sorts of combination. What sparked this week’s topic was the waffle with salmon on it. A popular breakfast dish in Norway is Laks og eggerøre which is simply put, salmon with scrambled eggs often served on a sandwich. Just like in the Netherlands breakfast can be a social event. This is especially common on the weekends or special occasions. All though we Dutch people eat our typical bread with cheese, meat, butter and other sweet toppings like the famous hagelslag (chocolate sprinkles). We also tend to eat breakfast on the move! Yes, you read that right. It’s very common for the typical Dutch person to eat their breakfast on the bicycle, in the car or then at the workplace before starting the day.
