26.10.2023 The Risky Business of Feminist International Relations In the second meeting of the IR Reading Group, we discussed the past and present of Feminist International Relations research by focusing on two articles. We started from what could perhaps be called a canonical piece in feminist IR theorizing: Ann Ticker’s 1997 article “You Just Don't Understand: Troubled Engagements between Feminists and IR Theorists” published in International Studies Quarterly. We then focused on a more recent piece providing an overview of research focused on gender in the discipline: Laura Sjoberg and Cameron Thies’ article “Gender and International Relations” published in the Annual Review of Political Science this year.
