Ensimmäisenä aiheena on projektien taloudenhallintajärjestelmä Tassu ja projektihakemusten hyväksyntäprosessi TASSUun siirryttäessä. Kysymyksiä ovat herättäneet mm. aikataulu (kuinka aikaisin pitää olla liikkeellä), vaatimukset (pitääkö esim. suunnitelmaluonnos olla mukana) sekä hyväksyntäketju (pitäisikö yksikön päälliköiden olla ketjussa).
Kampuskehityksen tilannekatsaus. Tietotalon remontti on alkanut marraskuussa. Hanke toteutetaan kahdessa vaiheessa niin, että ensimmäinen vaihe kestää marraskuusta tammikuuhun ja toinen vaihe helmikuusta huhtikuuhun. Esim. viikolla 51 Tietotalon Työympäristön muutokset -hankkeen rakennustyöt jatkuivat F-siiven ja G-siiven 4krs uusien väliseinien pystyttämisellä.
Osa Tietotalon henkilöstöstä on väistötiloissa mm. Rakennustalossa. Jo kuluvana vuonna (2023) ITC-tiedekunta on saanut säästöjä tilakustannuksista. Tulevaisuudessa kuitenkin vuokrat tulevat nousemaan. Sekä yliopiston johdon että tiedekunnan johdon viimeaikaisissa puheissa on vilahtaneet toiveet saada henkilöstöä palaamaan enenevissä määrin kampuksille, tilaohjelmassa kuitenkin lasketaan, että huomattava osa henkilöstöstä on etätyössä. Aiheesta kannattaa keskustella mm. ohjausryhmissä sekä yliopiston johdon tasolla.
Ari Laitisen talouskatsaus: Olemme pystyneet melko hyvin suunnitelmassa, ulkoisen rahoituksen tilanne on ollut hyvä, kirjausten kohdentaminen on parantunut. Jatkamme samalla mallilla ensi vuonna.
Talous saa aina aikaan laajaa keskustelua. Kaikella on merkitystä, tuntien kohdentaminen, julkaisujen kirjaaminen, niiden avoimeksi saattaminen, hyvä opintojen ohjaus ja hyvä työnohjaus, ongelmiin puuttuminen nopeasti, työhyvinvointi, tutkimusrahoituksen hakemisen tukeminen, tutkimuksen tekemisen tukeminen, tekoälyn hyödyntäminen tutkimuksessa. Ja toiveissa myös mm. byrokratian väheneminen, ei lisääminen.

The first topic will be the project financial management system TASSU and the approval process for project applications in the transition to TASSU. Issues raised include the timeline (how early to be on the move), the requirements (e.g. whether a draft plan should be included) and the approval chain (whether heads of unit should be in the chain).
Campus development status report. The renovation of Tietotalo has started in November. The project will be carried out in two phases, with the first phase running from November to January and the second phase from February to April. For example, in week 51, the construction work on the ”Changes to the Working Environment” project in Tietotalo continued with the erection of new partitions in F-wing and G-wing 4krs.
Part of the staff of Tietotalo are in temporary accommodation, including in Rakennustalo. Already in the current year (2023), the ITC faculty has made savings on space costs. In the future, however, rents will increase. Recent speeches by both the university management and the faculty management have expressed the hope that more staff will return to the campus, but the facilities programme calculates that a significant proportion of staff will be working remotely. This is an issue worth discussing, for example in steering groups and at university management level.
Ari Laitinen’s financial review: we have done quite well according to plan, external funding has been good, the allocation of hours has improved. We will continue with the same model next year.
The economy always generates a wide-ranging debate. Everything counts: allocating hours to projects, recording publications, making them open, good study guidance and good supervision, addressing problems quickly, well-being at work, supporting applications for research funding, supporting the conduct of research, using artificial intelligence in research. And also, among other things, a reduction in bureaucracy, not an increase.
