I have chosen Solita’s project on Generative AI, focusing on the legal framework of Data & AI within the European Union.
My Interests in this Project
I believe this project holds significant practical importance. With the rapid advancement of artificial intelligence technology, understanding the relevant regulations is crucial for safeguarding citizen rights and ensuring business compliance. Furthermore, this project allows me to explore the interface between advanced AI technologies and legal compliance.
Preliminary Topic and Approach:
Deliverable 1: Initially, I will list and briefly describe the existing data and AI regulatory frameworks within the EU, with a specific focus on the issues they address. I will provide a concise overview for quick comprehension of the scope of each regulation.
Deliverable 2: Subsequently, I will select the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Artificial Intelligence Act (COM/2021/206 final, Passed by the European Parliament on June 14, 2023) and explore how they can be considered within an ICT consultancy company. This may involve crafting compliant company policies, adjusting existing processes, and training employees to ensure adherence.
Deliverable 3: Finally, I will explore the use of Generative AI in public decision-making, analyzing relevant cases and regulations, their applications, and potential impacts within the public decision-making process.
