A Good Start for Student Life in Tampere in a Post-COVID Era

Some of you, just like me, have never experienced student life in Tampere before the pandemic. So where to begin? I might have a good tip for you.

The days we are all waiting for will come, we still do not know exactly when, but the idea of a post-COVID social student life in Tampere already gives us a lot of excitement and things to look forward to.

The funny thing is that some of you, just like me, have never experienced student life in Tampere before the pandemic. So where to begin? I might have a good tip for international and local students, so take notes!

The Learning Lab of Tampere Universities wants to create active and inspiring activities, allowing students to share their skills to improve their well-being in our community. The goal of the leisure club activities is to bring easy access activities to students in the entire university community. There are options for all tastes: photography club, running club, fitness club, craft club, book club, Minecraft club, etc.

I have recently participated in the Slow run-walk sessions and it was so much fun! On top of enjoying beautiful sunny days in the nature around Tampere, I also met new people from different countries and had an amazing time. The Learning Lab organizes all the activities in a very nice calendar where you can easily sign up. It is such a great opportunity to integrate with other students and have a pleasant experience that I cannot emphasize enough how everyone should take advantage of this great initiative.

As long as the restrictions are still in place, the gathering limits recommended by the regional pandemic steering committee will apply to these events, as will the use of a face mask and other measures, which do not prevent people to have a nice time, just as I had.

The arrival of a post-COVID era has been and will still be a quite long process, and as we know it can be tiring and challenging, but I am sure that the enthusiasm of activities like the Learning Lab Free-time activities gives us a boost of energy and hope for the better days yet to come!
