Upcoming Student Events: What’s Happening This Autumn 2024?

As autumn sets in and the leaves start to fall, Tampere is buzzing with exciting student events that promise to enlighten, entertain, and help you connect with like-minded individuals. Student life in Tampere is not just about studying; there are plenty of opportunities to explore your interests, develop your career, and have fun along the way. Here are some of the upcoming events.

Halloween parties

What’s autumn without a spooky celebration? Tampere’s student unions are throwing one of the biggest Halloween parties in town! Grab your costumes, gather your friends, and head over to Klubi for a night full of dancing and spooky vibes. It’s the perfect way to take a break from your studies and celebrate Halloween in style. Wellbeing Week at Tampere University (6–10 November)

University life can be demanding, and this week is all about taking care of your mental and physical well-being. There are plenty of events and activities happening in all campuses which includes: 

  • Yoga & Mindfulness Classes: Relax and de-stress with guided sessions. 
  • Nutrition Workshops: Learn how to fuel your body during exam season. 
  • Mental Health Lectures: Find out how to manage anxiety and burnout. 

In addition, there will be opportunities to meet with wellness professionals and fellow students to discuss ways to maintain a healthy lifestyle during your studies. Whether you’re looking to improve your fitness or mental health, Wellbeing Week has something for everyone. 

TREY Career Workshop Week (13–17 November)

This week-long event is packed with workshops and seminars designed to help students prepare for their future careers. Sessions will cover everything from CV writing, interview skills, and personal branding to entrepreneurship and career opportunities in different sectors. Industry professionals and career coaches will be on hand to offer advice and personal feedback. This is a great event for students who are looking to get practical tips and make real connections in their fields. 

Demola Innovation Challenge – Info Session (20 November)

Demola is an internationally recognized platform that brings together students, companies, and universities to solve real-world challenges. If you are interested in working on innovative projects with real business clients, this info session will explain how you can participate. Demola projects can be done alongside your studies, making them a great way to gain relevant work experience. 

Company Networking Evening at Tampere University (25 November)

This is one of the best opportunities for students to meet potential employers and find internships, summer jobs, or full-time employment. Various companies from different industries will set up booths, giving you the chance to network directly with HR managers and professionals. Some companies will also present job openings and offer insights into their recruitment processes.
