I am Afreena Emrose Ontee from Bangladesh and studying to pursue the MSc. degree in Sustainable Architecture program at Tampere University. Before arriving in Tampere, you may face confusion about where to live during your student life here. In this blog, I am trying to give you a short glimpse of your next destination at Tampere. So, what are you waiting for? Have a look in the blink of your eyes!
The Hervanta campus is known as a hub for technology.
As a student in the architecture field, all my classes are held on Hervanta campus. The campus mostly serves students in the construction, engineering, and technology fields. The place is known as a hub for technology. If you are a student of these sectors and if you want to live exactly near your campus, choose the Hervanta area as your next destination. You will find all your daily needs at your doorsteps in this area.
The privilege of getting a tram
Hervanta is known as a prime location for students to get transport all the time. You can use the tram which usually runs by 7-10 minutes gap. Not only the tram, but you can get most of the route’s bus easily within walking distance from your Hervanta campus. The privilege of getting a tram is very useful for the students as it directly connects the city center of Tampere to Hervanta. You will experience nature and city life definitely through your tram’s window while riding.
The view from the tram window will amaze you with glimpses of sunflower gardens, fresh green leafy forests in summer, or the glittery white beauty of snowfall in winter.
Daily needs grocery shops at hand
Within a 5-minute walking distance from your campus, you will find ‘DUO’ which comprises the most popular chain of grocery stores like K-Market, S-Market, and Lidl under one roof. You will get all your daily needs of a barber shop, burger and pizza place like Koti Pizza, Hesburger and others, pharmacy, postal service to receive and deliver your mail and parcels, second-hand shop, and gymnasium here. You will never get bored while walking randomly in the DUO.
Most importantly the students’ housing opportunities
Hervanta is well-known and demanding for its opportunities for student housing near the campus. Budget-friendly housing can be found in this area. The largest building for student housing is ‘Mikontalo’ which is just a 10-minute walking distance from the Hervanta campus. Moreover, you may find a large number of studio apartments, shared apartments and family apartments in this area at your convenience. You will be amazed by the surrounding facilities near your upcoming housing. So, my suggestion, you can select Hervanta on your housing list.
A peaceful nature for your leisure hours
Whenever you get bored, Hervanta has the settings to give you a peaceful place to walk, sit and run with nature. Ahvenisjärvi, Hervantajärvi, and Suolijärvi are the nearest lake and nature trail for the sudden walk waiting for you. Whenever you walk through the walkways, the black-headed gulls will follow your footsteps. You will experience the children’s park and evening walks with the pets around you in mesmerizing nature.
No doubt, you will feel literally a vibrant place full of students chirping around you all the time.
Eventually, Hervanta is always ready to welcome you. It will be a lifetime experience for you to live in a student-friendly area. No doubt, you will feel literally a vibrant place full of students chirping around you all the time. So, what are you looking for?
Let the exciting student life begin here!!!
