This time we met in the Fazer Café on 15.11.2016, and we were talking especially about what we thought about the country of each other.
Therefore, I had to give my opinion about the people from Germany, and France, and what the Spanish people think about them. I started talking about France, overall Spaniards think that the French people are really chauvinists, compared to Spain the French people are prouder of their symbols such as the flag, anthem. And sometimes, that makes them arrogant when they have to compare with other countries. Of course, I don’t know in the rest of France, but I have always had the idea that Paris is the most romantic city in the World, maybe because of the some films, or the beauty of the city. Furthermore, a lot of my friends who were in France they told me that the French people usually smoke, and it is difficult to find someone who can talk in English, even if they know English , they will answer you in French. Then, France is popular among the Spaniards due to its spectacular cuisine. As for, what the people in Spain think about Germany, firstly we have the initial idea before knowing a German that he/she is going to be tall, blonde, and with blue eyes. Also, we think that they like to control everything, and everybody in a really strict way. Maybe, this way of acting makes them very orderly, clean, and punctual. Also, I think that the Germans drink more than usual (especially beer), generally they are more rich tan any part of Europe, and like us, they like a lot the football.
Then Coralie had to tell us what were her prejudices about the Spanish and the Germans. Coralie started talking about the Spanish people, she said that we are lazy (the shops close during the lunch time between 14.00 and 16.00), extremes in our behaviors, sociable people that we like party, talkative, and we love sleep. Also she said that Spain is known because of the cuisine (Paella), and the Spaniards usually have brown skin. Later, she talked about what she thought about the Germans. From her prospect the Germans are strange, always angry, maniac, and the women are stronger than men. Finally, she said that some dishes typical from the German cuisine such as sausage, or the beer; and the Christmas market as one of the popular places most known in Germany.
Lastly, the German girls Coralie and Tanja had to explain us their prejudices. They said that we (Spanish) are always really relaxed, eat too late ( 3.00 pm lunch time, 9.00 pm dinner time), speak too fast, and we usually have brown hair and skin, and good dancers. From them Spain is known because of their beautiful girls, the beer, and the “tapas”. Then, they had to talk about what they think about the French people, from their prospect, they are romantic, arrogant, they hate not speak. Furthermore, they know France because of their sexy girls, and its cuisine such as cheese, baguette, croissants, and wine.
For me it was so interesting to know what other people from other countries think about my country because some of the things that they said I would never have expected.
