Card games (8th meeting)

Picture of cards

On our 8th meeting, we decided to have a little board game evening and played cards.

We introduced different kinds of card games to each other, which we usually play with friends and family. It was very interesting for me to learn, that in Finnish, the symbols of each card (heart, cross, spade and diamond) are called a country.
We then exchanged the names of the card symbols in Finnish, Hungarian and German and tried to teach each other some words, which we used when playing the card games or explaining the rules. I also learned more about the history and the tradition behind the famous Finnish Sitsits, which was very interesting. We even listened to some typical songs, which people sing at sitsits.
At first, it was hard to explain some rules for the card games in a foreign language, but when demonstrating the rules of each card game, it got easier to understand. It was a very fun evening, learning more about typical card games from our home countries.
