Hortobágyi palacsint, is a Hungarian dish made with a Hungarian pancake filled with minced meat, sauteed paprika, spices, onions, etc.
Soma taught me and my roommate how to make this traditional Hungarian dish from scratch. It was a really easy dish to make and it was very delicious and contained a lot of flavours.
I pre-made a Belgian dessert, pancakes and ice cream. I had to make the pancake ahead because we didn’t have enough pots and pans to cook everything at the same time with not a lot of time.
I had a lot of fun making a dish that was unfamiliar to me. I liked the fact that I got the opportunity to taste diverse cuisine and try different food. I wish that we had enough kitchen utensils so that I could have taught Soma how to make Belgian pancakes.
