Meeting 8: 21.11| childhood

This time we meet for some video games and talked about our childhood.

Reflecting on our childhoods from my perspective, born in 1998, and Gopi’s, seven years my junior, brought to light fascinating generational nuances. Growing up in late ’90s Germany, my childhood was marked by the aftermath of reunification, the dawn of technology, and the evolving cultural scene.

Contrasting with my experiences, Gopi entered the world in 2005, witnessing the swift rise of digital connectivity. Our discussions unveiled differences in cultural touchstones, from cartoons to toys, yet revealed common threads of joy in outdoor play and the simplicity of shared childhood pleasures.

Despite the temporal gap, these shared experiences served as bridges, connecting our distinct childhoods. The conversation highlighted the enduring essence of joy and innocence, showcasing the evolving tapestry of generational experiences and strengthening our connection through the ages.
