Today, we played skribbl.io, and every time a word popped up on the screen for us to draw, Enric would translate that word for me. For example, if the word is chicken then he would translate it for me as Pollo. Skribbl.io is a game that helps players not only practice their language skills but they can also choose a word and demonstrate their understanding in a unique way by drawing the word so that others can guess it.
We also played skribbl in Spanish and picked up a few new phrases, including “duende.” It also aids with memory recall. For example, I would easily recognize “laberinto” as a maze if I saw it, but if I had to remember the term from a painting, it would be much more difficult. This activity helped me learn common terms that I wouldn’t have learned otherwise.
