Our next date was in the evening at my house with a friend from Vietnam and her 4 year old daughter. My friend’s name is Phuong and her child’s name is Coca, they have lived in Finland for 1 year. Coca speaks Finnish, English and Vietnamese.
Melisha spoke to Coca in Finnish because she has lived in Finland for 13 years. When talking to Coca, Melisha translated the vocabulary from Finnish into English that she said to Coca so I could understand.
I also learned more Finnish vocabulary related to ice cream and how to describe its taste because Melisha brought 2 boxes of vegan ice cream to my house and we ate it together. However, I didn’t remember all the Finnish vocabulary because it was really difficult.
While chatting, Melisha taught me how to pronounce “s” and “sh” in English, we practiced many times so that I could clearly distinguish between “s” and “sh” and pronounce them correctly. . At the same time, Melisha also learned Vietnamese words for emotions when Coca began sharing all kinds of feelings she had as bedtime approached.
Our evening was cozy, full of laughter and gave us the opportunity to learn and teach 3 languages simultaneously without much effort.
