I have unfortunately already returned from my exchange from Japan but that still doesn’t stop me from writing a postcard about my time there. I wish I could’ve done this earlier but my life there got so busy because of school.
During my time in Japan I have made a lot new friends, eaten a lot of good food and joined different activities and clubs. I even joined the tea ceremony club (茶道部) at my host school. I’d have practice every 4th and 5th period on Tuesdays and Thursdays and even though it wasn’t mandatory to join all sessions I ended up going anytime I was free (even skipping a lecture at one point).

Me and another exchange student from Netherlands got so good at doing the tea ceremonies out of all the exchange students there that we were got to do it for the club’s farewell party for the exchange students. For the tea party we also got to wear kimonos that we bought second-hand from a thrift store.
Before I left Japan, I also went to buy the utensils for the tea ceremonies so that I could practice doing it while in Finland as well.
