During my exchange in Salerno, I had the opportunity to study International Business at the University of Salerno for about four and a half months. Salerno is a stunning city where you can immerse yourself in authentic Italian daily life while still enjoying the beautiful beaches just minutes away.
One of the best things about Salerno is its perfect balance between studying and exploring. The courses weren’t too difficult, which made it easy to enjoy other experiences without stressing too much about school. There are also plenty of student activities, parties, and organized trips specifically for exchange students, which made it simple to meet new people and make friends from all over the world.
Salerno’s location is ideal for exploring the region. The Amalfi Coast is really close and easy to access, making spontaneous day trips to places like Amalfi, Positano, or Ravello a regular part of life. Even in the city itself, everyday life is full of charm. Wandering the streets lined with cafes and historic buildings, grabbing a cappuccino, or chatting with locals gives you a true taste of Italian culture.
And when you want to unwind, the beach is always just around the corner. Whether you’re relaxing in the sun or taking in the breathtaking views of the Tyrrhenian Sea, it’s easy to forget about deadlines and just enjoy the moment. Living in Salerno gave me a mix of academic growth, cultural immersion, and unforgettable experiences that I’ll always treasure.
