If you’re considering whether you should go for exchange or skip it, choose the first one. This is a once in a life time experience for many of us and we should take the change to explore the world as we have the opportunity. Don’t think about it too much, just take your chances and let the flow take you.
I have been to school here only 3 times a week and it has been pretty nice that way. I have had time to enjoy Italy too. I have two courses in economic field and one course of basics of Italian. The economic courses have been very interesting and eye-opening. I have enjoyed the different teaching methods that these teachers have used. The Italian course on the other hand has been a challenge for me. The course is for Erasmus students and it is A1 level but the teacher speaks only Italian so you can imagine how difficult it has been to understand the grammar parts. š
On my spare time I study a lot Italian and try to do also some courses for TAMK. I love to spend time with my new friends from here and I also often call to my loved ones in Finland. When it still was warm I often went for walks to the beach but now it is colder so we spend more time inside or at coffee shops with friends.
In Italy or at least in Salerno I feel that the teachers are very though on the students. You don’t get extra time on anything and the instructions are often times extremely unclear and the end results can be anything. I prefer Finnish style of teaching/studying and this experience opened my eyes for this. I am not saying that Italian style of teaching couldn’t work for someone but for me it is not it. Group assignments have been very difficult due to Italians not speaking good English and also having very strict opinions.
I add here few pictures. Enjoy!
