Dober dan, greetings and hello from Maribor, the second biggest city in Slovenia. (Right after the capital Ljubljana, and easier to pronounce.)
I study Business Administration, more specifically sales and marketing, and I decided to do a whole year abroad here. My studies here have been fairly manageable, they seem to require a lot less work than in Finland, even though the course contents are very informative. I’m mostly studying with other exchange students, but in a few of my courses there are also some Slovenian students as well.
Apart from studying I spend a lot of time traveling both inside and outside of Slovenia, and I have to say, Slovenia is a very underrated destination. Slovenia has seaside, mountains, forest, beautiful picturesque cities and towns, and great local wine. When I’m not studying or traveling, I spend my time with other exchange students partying, playing cards, going to the movies or out for a congee or two. What more could you ask for?
Compared to Finland, the studies here have been less demanding, and the study area a bit wider. We write our exams with pen and paper on huge lecture rooms, which is very different than in Finland. However, I am very much enjoying my time and studies here.
Nasvidenje, Iida
