Greeting from Sardinia

Sardinia

My exchange in Cagliari was not only about studying, but also learning about the culture and spending time with people from different backgrounds. And of course also enjoying the sun and nature.

Cagliari is the capital of Sardinia and if you ask from me, it’s the most beautiful city in a world. The sun was almost always shining and nature was pretty. People were kind there and curios about foreigners. Even though it’s not a big city, many people, especially in service industry, spoke pretty good English.

Studying in Italy is different in many way from studying in Finland. The courses were more lecture oriented and almost the total grade came from exams. There was some group works but not as much as in Finland and there were almost none independent tasks. Even though sometimes studying felt burdensome, I still could feel the balance with school and spare time.

I spend a lot of my spare time outside, mostly in cafes or bars. The exchange student organization had organized many different kind of events. There were trips, get-togethers, parties and much more. It was pleasant to spend time with other exchange students and share experiences. We also explored other parts of the Island, and I loved to see other smaller villages and the nature in the northern parts.
