I’m currently doing my exchange studies at University of Derby, studying business, where my focus points are at international entrepreneurship and developing leadership. My studies have been quite interesting, academic English has been totally new thing for me, and it has taken its time to get use to it. But it has been really interesting journey, and really important learning journey for me personally. My spare time has been quite same, as back home in Finland, but of course not as totally same. Exploring a lot of the city and nearby cities (Nottingham and Birmingham) with other exchange students, and just overall spending a lot of time with one of other. When comparing studying in Finland and in UK (Derby) I have noticed, that not so many of the students are that motivated to study, or at least their dedication shows it differently: many times someone (or somebody’s) are just leaving in the middle of the class (and not returning) or coming late to the class (like 1-2h late), and for me this has been the major difference here compared to Finland.
