Szia!
I’m Saaga a Finnish second-year social services student from Tampere University of Applied Sciences. I am currently doing an exchange in Budapest, Hungary. I study at Elte University, special needs education faculty.
Most of my classes are about special needs education but I have also taken some about research methods and psychology. My faculty gets the lowest funding and that is sadly visible in the quality of education. Also, the healthcare system is very different here and is not up to date. It makes it easy for people with less to fall through the cracks and not get the help they need.
I came here for the first time back in 2019 and I fell in love with this city even with its flaws. It has been super easy to relocate here especially because of my local friends who live here. Budapest has so much to offer, from food to events. They also have a vibrant student life here thanks to Erasmus Student Network (ESN) and Erasmus Life Budapest (ELB).
In my free time, I like to meet up with friends in cafes and go to events like Jazz jam sessions. There is always something going on in the city.
My studies are quite relaxed here so I have had plenty of time to also visit other Hungarian cities and nearby countries such as Slovenia where I took that picture of a dragon. Right now I’m planning a trip to Eger which is known for its wines and thermal baths.
