I am doing a double degree in Bordeaux at Kedge Business School. I have spent two semesters here and I had a very different experience in each. In the first semester I was doing a wine business module, where half of the class were international students the other half was French students. This way I could make connection with French people as well this made it possible to see how a French university (Kedge is a grand école) works and how their study path differs from TAMK. The most surprising that we had wine tasting once a week at least once a week, this give us a different understanding of the material which we were learning the theory about. In the second semester I was taking only courses related to management, but this time I was with only international students. This way I could meet a lot of people from all over the world.
In my spare time I did a lot of different things, I did a lot of traveling around the area especially visiting different wine estates. I also started to go to rugby matches because the local team UBB is among the top 5 teams in the whole world. With all the different exchange students there was always something to do.
For me the biggest difference compared to Finland was that how the courses are assessed, there were few test or presentations during the course which was worth 40% of your grade and at the end of each course there was a hand written exam which was worth 60% of your grade. Also the grading system was from 0-20 where 10 was the first passing grade.
Overall the experience in Bordeaux was amazing I would recommend the city for anyone even just for a short holiday.
