Life in Japan has been very eventful and fun. My university, APU, is full of people from all over the world, which makes this experience even more unique. Even though Japan and it’s culture are very beautiful, unique and well preserved, APU offers a chance to get to know different people from different cultures. In the main photo of this blog, there is our team for the yearly beach football tournament. We had players from Japan, Congo, Sweden, Norway, France, England, Austria and Indonesia. We finished on the third place, but most of all it was super fun and exciting to play with such a diverse group of people.
On my spare time I have focused on playing football with the APU football team, and of course getting to know the Japanese culture. The food here is amazing, even in the APU cafeteria the food feels like real restaurant food. My favourite food here is “Karaage” which means fried chicken in a special sauce. (Photo below)
I have also gone hiking on my spare time, since there are many mountains and hills here in Japan. Here is a picture from Mt. Yufu, which is near to my “hometown” Beppu:
Most of my spare time is of course focused on studying, since the Japanese language courses are very intense. We have 8 lectures and 2 exams every week.
Overall my time here in Japan has been very pleasing and I encourage everyone to visit some day if possible!
