Hallo Leute! I was exactly two months ago when I arrived in the magnificent city of Berlin. I have visited the city a couple times before since my big brother used to study here. You could say that it was kind of like love at the first sight. I knew that I want to come back and spend a longer period of time in the city, and what would be a better opportunity for that than an Erasmus exchange? Time really flies. It feels like I’ve been here only a couple weeks. But I guess that’s how it always is when you are having the time of your life. I’m living in a WG (Wohngemeinschaft) meaning a big shared flat with 12 other people from all around the world. I know, it may sound like a lot, but everything functions very well. Of course also because all the people are so warm-hearted and awesome. 🙂 I’ve become close friends with the people at the flat as well as with many exchange students. It’s awesome.
I guess I have to give a word about the university life here as well since that’s the reason why we are traveling the world in the first place. The uni started here in the beginning of October, which is about a month later than in Finland. The courses are really changeable when it comes to the level of teaching etc. But that’s how it is at Tamk as well. The exam period is going to take place in the end of February and the semester will also end then. After that I’m planning to do my internship here in Berlin. One of the reasons I came to Germany was to learn fluent German. Quite fast I noticed (I knew it beforehand too) that speaking German in Berlin is quite challenging, because so many people speak English. Berlin is not the most typical German city, but a big, international metropolis.
Anyway, to keep it short, I am going really great here and I am grateful for Tamk and for everyone who has made it possible for me to come here and gain new, awesome experience that will be with me the whole of my life.
Mit freundlichen Grüßen
Jussi
