I am studying international business in Finland so I have chosen to pursue mostly studies related to my degree and specialization studies. I am enrolled in 4 different courses: entrepreneurship, corporate strategy, international management accounting and financial reporting, and international financial modeling. So far I’ve been able to enjoy my studies and meet other students.
Outside of school is where I’ve actually met most of my friends. There’s been a lot of traveling and partying. We’ve gone to Vienna, to Rosenheim for an autumn fest, and we’ve spent a lot of time in different pubs and restaurants too. I’ve met a lot of great people from all over and its been great to use English so much. Although I want to get better at German, I’ve always been able to handle myself in English when needed. I have also spent a lot of time in our apartment, which I share with 3 roommates. Even though we are all very different, we’ve gotten along very well and I enjoy spending time with them too. I’ve also started to go to the gym here, which is a great way spend time doing something familiar.
The biggest differences I’ve encountered at Hochschule München compared to TAMK are the way courses are selected and the attendance in classes. For the course selection, the school held a raffle. If you didn’t get into enough of courses, you were supposed to try and sign into the ones that were left. Also, many of the local students haven’t attended classes that much after the first few sessions. However, its going okay and I still get to meet many people both at school and outside of school.
Many things have already happened and I’m still looking forward for the rest of the exchange!
