Postcard from Maribor, Slovenia

Dober dan! – Good afternoon! This is a word you will hear many times in Slovenia.

Spending four months in Maribor, Slovenia, on a student exchange program at the Faculty of Economics and Business was truly the best time of my life. After only a week of living in Slovenia, I knew this would be an unforgettable experience.

Maribor and its charming streets, welcoming locals, and vibrant student life quickly became a second home. The Faculty of Economics and Business was both challenging and enriching, offering me new perspectives and knowledge that I know will be useful in my future career.

In addition to studies, all the trips and friendships we made made this experience better than I imagined. My friends and I used every opportunity to get to know Slovenia and other countries. We traveled to many destinations around Slovenia, and each trip made us want to travel more. And of course, all student parties will stay in my memory for a long time.

Slovenia is a good student exchange destination, because the culture and way of life is very similar to Finland. Students are offered support for meals in the same way as in Finland, and the price level is also more affordable. Slovenians also like sports, so it was easy to maintain a daily routine. And even though Maribor is not a big city, there is a lot to do in your free time. For example, watching and playing football 😉
