A little bit about my life in Budapest, Hungary.

Hello from Budapest!

I have been here over two months so far and i have fallen in love with the city and it’s culture. Budapest has so much to offer!  I am a nursing student and i’m doing clinical trainings in here. It has been quite the eye opening experience working in different hospitals and clinics in this country. Some things are being done quite differently here compared to Finland. But overall it has been a great learning experience.

In my free time i have explored Budapest. I have been to so many museums and cute coffee shops. I have also had the opportunity to visit other cities in Hungary and close cities like Wien. Budapest’s location is awesome. Just in couple of hours you can travel to another country.

Clinical practices in Budapest are quite different compared to Finland. One example of this are the working hours. In Hungary nurses work always 12 hour shifts in a hospital. There is no separate morning and evening shift. Other huge difference is how documentation is being done. In Finland everything is writen on a computer but in here every health documentation almost is written on a paper. But it’s been great learning experience to see how things are being done in other countries.

These past months has been one of the greatest in my life. This has truly changed my perspective in many things and opened my mind. Very grateful to the time i have had in this amazing city!

Kind Regards, Jasmin
