Greetings from sunny Porto!
I had my student exchange in Porto, Portugal. The first two months from February to April were pretty rainy and chilly, but after that I got the warmth and sun that I was looking for. And it wasn’t too hot either, the temperatures stayed below 30 °C for most of the time, which was fine by me.
My studies in informatics engineering didn’t differ that much from studies in Finland, it was pretty similar. Theory classes were only in Portuguese, but exchange students were offered materials in English so it didn’t matter too much.
On my spare time I did some travelling and trying local foods. Porto is a beautiful city about the size of Tampere in terms of population. It felt cozy when returning from Lisbon.
Portugal has beautiful old architecture and a rich history. Well worth visiting!
